What to change

  • 0034 says "The tool follows the MADR spec, not a local variant" (L23). 0037 makes adr check stricter than MADR on purpose. Change 0034 so that the two agree.
  • 0037 lists the places where madtea is stricter than MADR (L26-28). The list lacks the Decision issues: rule from 0045.
  • 0034 states the numbering rule: records are numbered consecutively from 0001; a merge goes into the lower number; the records above the gap are renumbered in the same change.
  • 0034 states that no heading carries a record number, as MADR does in its own record "Do Not Use Numbers in Headings".

Acceptance

  • 0034 and 0037 do not contradict each other or 0045.
  • 0034 states the numbering rule and the heading rule.

Done in #667: ADR 0034 has the numbering rule (numbers and file names never change, and a merged record stays as a superseded stub), the no-numbers-in-headings rule, and a pointer to the reference rule of ADR 0037. ADR 0037's list of house rules has the Decision issues: rule.
