What happens

madtea can create and check records, but not read them. To find the decision that covers something, a person or an agent opens every file in docs/decisions/.

Ask

  • adr list: one line per record with number, title, status, and date. Filter by status (for example --status proposed) and by a title match.
  • adr view <number>: one record, with its front matter shown as fields and then the body.
  • MCP: madt_adr gains list and view with the same arguments. One name per operation on both surfaces (docs/contributing/naming-conventions.md, including the view/get rule).
  • Both read the record files in the checkout (and another clone with dir=), not the forge.
  • Legacy docs/adr/ trees: list shows number and title at least.

Prior art: ADG (adr/ad-guidance-tool) has list (filter by tag, status, title, or id) and view. madtea reads MADR front matter instead of ADG's own metadata.

Acceptance

  • adr list and madt_adr action=list return the same records with number, title, status, and date.
  • adr list --status proposed shows only proposed records.
  • adr view 36 and madt_adr action=view show record 0036.
  • The parity test passes.

To find the decision that covers something, a person or an agent opens every file in `docs/decisions/`. ## Ask - `adr list`: one line per record with number, title, status, and date. Filter by status (for example `--status proposed`) and by a title match. - `adr view <number>`: one record, with its front matter shown as fields and then the body. - MCP: `madt_adr` gains `list` and `view` with the same arguments. One name per operation on both surfaces (`docs/contributing/naming-conventions.md`, including the `view`/`get` rule). - Both read the record files in the checkout (and another clone with `dir=`), not the forge. - Legacy `docs/adr/` trees: list shows number and title at least. Prior art: ADG (`adr/ad-guidance-tool`) has `list` (filter by tag, status, title, or id) and `view`. madtea reads MADR front matter instead of ADG's own metadata. ## Acceptance - `adr list` and `madt_adr action=list` return the same records with number, title, status, and date. - `adr list --status proposed` shows only proposed records. - `adr view 36` and `madt_adr action=view` show record 0036. - The parity test passes.
